Blog #2: Reading Heartland
Over the past year or so, I have not read many books, but there was a series that I really enjoyed reading. It is called Heartland and it is written by Lauren Brooks. She writes about many characters and their experiences with horses. Of course only I would write about them, but I have not really read anything other than this series, which includes around 25 books. The first one that I read was towards the end of the series, so I was sort of lost, but it was still amazing. So the series is about a group of people who are related some way or another, and they pretty much put horses through rehab. Through out the 16th book, I got introduced to the characters and got a lot of info on the animals that they were working with. I love the series and plan on continuing reading them. So far I have read 16-20 and 1- 7, I think. I will probably end up rereading them like many other people that reread there favorite books.

Hey- this is Jen from the U of M again. I grew up on a dairy farm, but my Mom and Grandma showed horses their whole life. We would go riding every weekend. Eight years ago my grandparents moved to Missouri and bought a huge ranch in Greenfield. I love being around animals and was really excited to see that you found (many) books about horses you could enjoy. Do you ride? Hope's blog said something about you and horseshows...
Hey jen, yes i do ride. I have an 18 month old Quarter Horse that i show haler and will ride western starting in April. We have dairy farms all up and down the road that the farm is at. Its a really fun hobby!
